A new eight foot stone dam at Palisades Kepler state park in eastern Iowa gains an $8000 federal materials grant approved in Washington. She traced him to Sterling Colorado and later released the insurance judgment after Armstrong appeared in Des Moines for the record.
Harold Malmberg 19 of Des Moines was convicted of murdering Russell Goodwin, an Omaha salesman. District Judge Louis Lightner of Columbus sentenced him to life in the state penitentiary.
Secretary Wallace on Wednesday tentatively approved a marketing agreement for sugar produced in the Philippine Islands outlining terms to govern sales and pricing under the program.
Gerald P. MacGuire a New York bond salesman testified before the un American activities committee that he identified as the cashier of a proposed fascist dictatorship. Rep Samuel Dickstein said MacGuire admitted to visiting Italy and Germany this year and named associates including Thomas W Lamont and Gen Hugh Johnson as part of the alleged plot to replace Roosevelt with a fascist ruler. The committee plans further summonses and an additional session to hear more details about the conspiracy claims and names involved.
New York court designates 10 year old Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt a ward of the state and awards custody to her aunt Mrs. Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney with weekend access to her mother Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt plans an immediate appeal to the court of appeals.
The international wheat advisory conference in Budapest decided in principle to extend the world wheat agreement for two years starting August 1935. No country opposed the extension, though Argentina and Canada want final approval after amendments are studied.
The Agricultural Adjustment Administration announced that the terminal grain elevator industry has been placed under the fair competition code of the grain exchanges through amendment of the code. The move is seen as more feasible than creating a separate code since most industry members belong to grain exchanges.

SEES SUMMIT Mo AP four men were killed in a collision between a dairy truck and a Rock Island motor train near here late Wednesday. The victims were Theodore Cass Jack Bittenlehren Otto Fenzell and a fourth man believed to have been Willis Williams.
