Washington AP reports the Navy bans the 40 year old Green Bowl secret society from Annapolis amid rumors of influence for promotions. A Navy memorandum finds no evidence of improper gains, but notes morale impact and limits on formal organization. 156 officers connected to the group were identified. 18 admirals among them. Admiral Ramsey, a top officer, said the group had no formal structure.
