Memorial to victims of Rwanda war visit by Carter
Former President Carter and Rosalynn Carter visit the Intarama genocide memorial near Kigali. Carter calls it one of the worst things he has seen as he conducts a fact finding mission ahead of November talks in Cairo on regional refugees. Leaders of Uganda Rwanda Burundi and Zaire seek his mediation. more than 500000 Rwandans, mostly Tutsis, were killed in the civil war.

China vows tariff cuts at Pacific Rim summit
