Mentzer elementary building permit issued in Marion district

The Marion Independent School District received a building permit for the Mentzer elementary school at 305 Second Avenue to replace the aging Lincoln elementary. Mother Charged In Tot's Death

IOWA CITY A 38 year old Solon woman was charged with first degree murder in the death of her 15 month old son. Mrs John Vaughn is jailed in University hospitals psychiatric ward as sheriff Maynard Schneider says an anonymous call reported a possible drowning in Solon. Keith George Vaughn was found drowned in the bathtub with indications the mother may have attempted suicide.
