The body of Emil Hoffman, 49, a New York architect, was found at the Lincoln Park golf course lake edge. Police say he bound a rope to a piling and to his ankles and wrists before jumping in. A special delivery letter to his wife said he had lost courage and bid farewell to his wife and daughter Lorraine, 18.
