Cedar Rapids man convicted fifth time this year
A 40 year old Cedar Rapids man, Bobby L. Walker, was found guilty of burglary in an Aug. 7 Cedar Rapids break in. The Linn District Court jury deliberated just over an hour. Walker also received a guilty verdict for possession of burglary tools and faces further trials on habitual criminal charges in Linn County and related sentences from Scott County counts.

Co-celebration marks 100th birthday and union anniversary
A co celebration will be held at Heritage Care Center 200 Clive Drive SW on Saturday at 10 a.m. The event honors William Kassler on his 100th birthday and the AFL-CIO’s 100th anniversary.
