Welding and health care students aid job demand in Iowa
Grace King reports that Riggs Martin, 18, is the first in Eastern Iowa to complete the High School Registered Apprenticeship Program at IFP Motion Solutions in Cedar Rapids. He trained for welding and manufacturing, earned credentials, and was paid as an apprentice while the Cedar Rapids company expands in three other states. The program links graduation with skilled work in motion control components.
