The State Board of Regents approved a $23.7 million plan to build a 14,000 seat arena and renovate the fieldhouse at the University of Iowa. Funding includes $12 million in bonds, $2.7 million from the Legislature, and about $7.6 million in private donations. Construction could begin next spring with 18 to 24 months needed to complete.

FBI scrutiny and multi state examinations follow claims linking Nixon aides and organized crime figures to the payoff. Ledger authorship remains unknown and authorities question authenticity.
