Stocks rallied on stronger than expected October retail sales and optimistic earnings from Target and others. The Dow rose 143.64 points to 8542.13 and the Nasdaq climbed 50.18 to 1411.52 as analysts noted Iraq’s UN weapons inspection accord. trading volume was light at 1.89 billion shares.
