Babbitt outlines Yosemite traffic cut plan
Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt announced a final environmental rescue plan to reduce Yosemite National Park traffic by more than half and shrink day parking from 1,660 to 550 spaces. The 10 year effort aims to restore natural areas, limit lodging to 980 rooms, add hiking and biking trails, and use shuttle transit for most visitors.
