Civil Suit Against Churchill Dismissed
A $75,000 civil damage suit against Gordon E. Jack Churchill, Charles City nightclub operator, was dismissed in district court at the Hoberts request. The suit, filed Oct 10 1949, alleged Churchill caused a 1947 fire that destroyed their nightclub under construction two miles west of Charles City.
