The Iowa Department of Public Instruction will hear the truancy case of Robert and Linda Sessions of Decorah on December 29. The hearing was moved from Sept. 22 after the state board found Decorah school board procedures faulty when it rejected the Sessions educational program last November. The Sessions, who educate Erik 12 and Sarah 8 at home, faced truancy charges in November 1981. The DPI must decide if the at home program with a certified teacher meets state requirements and if it equals public school education. Benton and two other DPI officials will preside in Des Moines.
