Caldecott winner Peter Spier on Noahs Ark and craft
Peter Spier, the 1978 Caldecott winner for Noahs Ark, discusses his method from idea boxes to library research, layout, and hundreds of sketches. He illustrates two books yearly, avoids photographs, and sketches after library checks. Born in the Netherlands, he moved to the U S in 1953 and now resides in Shoreham NY with his wife, a reading teacher, while sailing and building ship models.
