Mankiewicz predicts little change to electoral system
Frank Mankiewicz press secretary to the late Sen. Robert Kennedy said on Tuesday night there is little hope for alterations to the electoral college. He argued the 1968 campaign will prompt changes to party nominating machinery but not abolition of the college, suggesting the constitutional crisis narrowly avoided would have required a similar crisis to force reform. He spoke to about 175 attendees with many seats empty at Memorial Coliseum under Area Ten Com.
