Cedar Rapids faces license decision on downtown casino
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will vote on issuing a license to one of three proposals for downtown Cedar Rapids casinos. Wild Rose Cedar Rapids would be built near the Skogman Building. Cedar Crossing Central would attach to the DoubleTree. Cedar Crossing on the River would rise on vacant First Ave land. Projections show $23 million to $46 million in new state revenue but risk cannibalizing Riverside Casino and Golf Resort.
