Lone Tree may land plant
Prairie Valley Hybrids Inc a Stauffer Chemical Co subsidiary eyes a 7 million plant east of Lone Tree to process corn and cut interstate transport costs. A 10 acre site would require rezoning from agricultural to commercial and bonds may fund the project creating up to 20 full time jobs before next harvest. Local officials anticipate positive effects on small businesses and school taxes.
