Former Cedar Rapids Woman Dies in Kansas Car Collision
Galeda Rae Burkholder of Cedar Rapids route one and her infant son Gary died in a Sunday crash near Emporia Kansas when their car collided with a passing vehicle at a hill crest. Burkholder, born September 3 1941, lived in McPherson with husband Gale R. Burkholder and two other sons Gregory and Gary. Surviving relatives in Eastern Iowa include her parents Mr and Mrs Richard O Heefner Elkader and Cedar Rapids, two brothers Daniel Elkader and Samuel Cedar Rapids, grandparents Mr and Mrs Iva G Miller North English and Mr and Mrs Ollie C Heefner Cedar Rapids. Services will be Thursday in McPherson. a memorial fund is planned by the Cedar Rapids Church of the Brethren.

Steer Killed by Car Near Lamont
An $1100 Holstein steer owned by Kenneth Parker of Lamont was killed when struck by a car on a county road 2 1/2 miles north of Lamont about 3:30 p m Monday. The car driven by Paul Dahlstrom 18 of Waukon struck the steer as it crossed, ran over it and left the road. Dahlstrom was treated for facial cuts and released. Two passengers James and Diane Duffy of Dorchester were not injured.

The Russell Hanson residence at 349 Twenty-ninth Street NW was broken into Monday between 6 and 9 30 p.m. Four shotguns valued around $475, a stereo worth $125, a $25 ring, Canadian coins and currency, firecrackers, and $7 in cash were taken. The break in was reported to police Tuesday.

Kramer Receives Two-Year Sentence For Crimes
Russell B. Kramer, 30, pled guilty in Linn district court to two reduced counts of assault with intent to inflict great bodily injury and was sentenced to a total of two years in the state penitentiary at Ft. Madison. He must serve the sentences consecutively, with credit for time served in jail and a medical facility since February 17.
