ImOn eyes Iowa City as new internet and TV option

Cedar Rapids based ImOn Communications seeks three lease and rights agreements with Iowa City to build fiber optic infrastructure starting downtown. If approved, ImOn would lease space in Tower Place data center, use excess city fiber capacity, and gain rights to install and expand fiber within rights of way. Residents faced high costs and dissatisfaction with current providers per a 2018 survey.
