Des Moines Sergeant Tony Beminio Laid to Rest
More than 1,500 officers attended the funeral of Des Moines sergeant Tony Beminio at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds were present as Beminio, 38, was honored after being shot in his patrol car. Police Chief Dana Wingert praised him as a model officer and family man, noting Beminio’s service since 2001 and leadership as a school resource officer. The service featured bagpipes, a 21-gun salute, taps, and a graveside procession at Glendale Cemetery.
