Cedar Rapids highway extension faces conservation opposition
The Cedar Rapids project to extend Highway 100 eight miles west and south to Highway 30 draws criticism from the Sierra Club, Linn County Conservation Commission, and Board of Supervisors who warn it would harm the Rock Island Botanical Preserve and a prairie habitat for the threatened Byssus skipper butterfly.
