Cedar Rapids Finalizes Casino Site Land Purchase

The City Council approved paying 415000 to Cedar Rapids Development Group LLC for land at the proposed casino site between A Avenue NW and Second Avenue SW and First and Third streets SW. City control will aid marketing and continued pursuit of a license after a prior state commission denial.

Cedar Rapids Extends Lobbying Contract for Flood Protection

The Gazette reports Cedar Rapids extends its contract with Kutak Rock LLP to secure federal funds for a flood protection project.
