A large study across nine centers in the United States shows Botulinum toxin type A injections, commonly used to smooth wrinkles, can reduce tiptoe walking in children with cerebral palsy. In 155 children treated over up to two years, about 49 percent walked with less tiptoe emphasis after six weeks and improvements persisted, with some able to walk without braces or ride a tricycle.
