New pelvic fracture surgery cuts hospital stay by 80 percent
Pittsburgh surgeon Dr. Dana C. Mears leads development of the Pittsburgh Triangular Frame to stabilize pelvis fractures. The device lets patients sit up the first day after surgery, reducing recovery time and mortality and enabling discharge in about two weeks with the frame in place.
