Cedar Rapids review of local preference eyed after Deere bid
Cedar Rapids approved a $75,559.31 bid from Bodensteiner Implement of Rowley over a lower $75,500 from Cross Implement of Minier Illinois for a used 2014 John Deere 6115M. City officials cited policy to select the lowest bid unless delivery or other factors require change and called for a procedure review to possibly extend local preferences beyond Linn County.

Appeals court mostly upholds Cedar Rapids traffic camera ruling

Iowa's October revenue small rise masks slower four month growth
Des Moines reports October tax receipts $3.1 million higher than 2015, but year to date growth of 0.7 percent through July to October trails the 6.1 percent forecast. Corporate tax weakness and higher refunds slow gains while personal income and sales taxes stay near 3 percent. The Revenue Estimating Conference projects $415 million total gain for the year, requiring near $400 million in the final eight months. The panel meets again in December to set 2018 projections ahead of the state budget process led by Gov Branstad with a January budget proposal.
