Prairie Creek station to run on natural gas by 2025
Alliant Energy will convert its Prairie Creek Generation Station No. 4 from coal to natural gas after nearly 50 years of coal burning. Crews install larger valves and pipes to retrofit the 100 megawatt unit, a process begun in October and expected to finish by week’s end.
