Cedar Rapids housing project rezoning vote falls short
CommonBond's Edgewood site decision remains site specific. Ash ley Jared notes the award cannot move, while opponents cite lack of neighborhood support. The authority favored the Edgewood location, citing close amenities and transit, but a 5-3 vote left it one member short and a recusal further narrowed the path.

Iowa Health and Wellness plan costs rise with drug bills
A legislative briefing says the Iowa Health and Wellness Medicaid expansion faced higher than expected costs due to limited early data and rising prescription drug spending. About 142,000 Iowa residents were enrolled in the first quarter, with drug costs up 32 percent per member monthly from fiscal 2014 to 2016. Senate Democrats call the plan rushed and unsustainable, planning further scrutiny at the Dec 13 Health Policy Oversight Committee.
