Oil hits price record as supplies fall

Oil futures surged to a trading high near 95 a barrel after the Energy Information Administration reported a 3.9 million barrel drop in U.S. crude stocks and the Fed cut rates by a quarter point. December light crude settled at 94.53, with earlier highs of 94.74 on the Nymex.

Ex-ND governor Edward Schafer nominated to lead Agriculture
