Cedar Rapids council delays land sale near Sac and Fox Trail
The Cedar Rapids City Council postponed the second of three votes on selling 2.32 acres of wooded city land above the Sac and Fox Trail near Rosedale Road. Meffert Limited Liability Co. owned by Bill and Mimi Meffert will pay the asking price of 24360 dollars. The Sierra Club opposes the sale, urging retention of timber as a trail buffer. Dusak says the deal stems from a past surveyor error and the plan includes a low density residential development with trail buffering to address concerns.
