The Linn-Mar School District will conduct a school census in June every two years. Census takers will inform residents, collect names addresses and birth dates of children. Marion police report the theft of $350 worth of tools from two vehicles at Jerry Graham’s residence 1710 Ninth Ave Sunday. Five juveniles were arrested in the last week with two charged for burglary two for assault and robbery and one for theft. Ten theft and seven criminal mischief cases were logged, including two burglaries one attempted burglary two stolen bicycles and one assault and robbery. YMCA activity schedule lists non aquatic open gym at 9 am and 1 pm plus several classes and swim sessions.
The bridge over Indian Creek from First Street to the pool lot reopened to vehicles after repairs by Schoon Planning and Engineering. Load bearing plates were replaced, pilings backfilled, and the west end piling replaced. the bridge had been closed since the September 1977 flood. Later city notices mention a water main project and local ads.
