The 355 Iowa PEO Sisterhood chapters schedule their annual convention at a Des Moines campus Tuesday through Friday with Clara Moor of Cedar Rapids presiding. The engagement of Mrs Melinda Ross to Brad Colton is announced. Miss Ross is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Cecil Ross of Davenport. Colton, a North Scott Community Schools graduate, is employed by the North Scott district. The couple will marry August 21 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Davenport.
Brenda Owen becomes Mrs David Allen Carpenter in a Cedar Christian Church ceremony officiated by Rev Neville Clayton. Attended by family and friends, reception followed for about 200 at Teamsters hall. The ISU couple, both students, plan to live in Ames with she affiliated to Chi Omega and he to Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Miss Jean Cecilia Martin and Steve Alten Cram united in a private ceremony at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Saturday morning. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs David J Martin of 304 Thirty-first Street SE, wore off-white seersucker with lace, daisies in hair, and a basket bouquet. Officiating minister was Rev Marvin Ehnen at 11 30. A reception for 100 followed at the Eagles club. The couple, delaying their East Coast trip, will reside in South Amana. The bride is a Ellsworth Junior College graduate and attended the University of Northern Iowa. employed by Amana Refrigeration Inc. The groom, a Kirkwood Community College graduate, attended the University of Iowa and is self employed as an antique dealer.
