Wild Rose faces Jefferson casino review as license decision nears

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission tours the proposed Wild Rose Jefferson site in Greene County after Cedar Rapids failed to win a license. Wild Rose president Tom Timmons says Cedar Rapids’ denial won’t affect the Jefferson project and notes the Jefferson plan is similar to other Wild Rose casinos with hotels and event space. Corbett eyes potential favoritism and the impact of existing operators on Jefferson’s prospects. Greene County’s population and the regional scope of the casino are highlighted as factors in the review.
