Board upholds Winneshiek budget against Farm Bureau challenge
The Iowa Appeal Board rejected Farm Bureau claims to move Sheriff’s Department costs fully to the rural fund. Seven rural patrol deputies’ expenses now come from the rural services fund, with 423057 dollars from the general fund and 367087 from the rural fund for the Sheriff’s Department. The Farm Bureau had previously challenged 1999 tax allocations and asserted retribution followed that appeal.
