Demoted Cedar Rapids detectives appeal demotion
Two Cedar Rapids officers Douglas Fuller and Don Rosdail appealed their demotions from detectives to patrol officers to the city Civil Service Commission. Their lawyers argue the action was unwarranted for off duty conduct after an internal probe into drinking at a Newton motel bar following testifying in a murder trial. The hearing date is to be set and the case hinges on on and off duty conduct and state civil service rules.
