Rezoning Rejected for Mount Vernon Area in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids City Council denied a petition to rezone 2201 to 2103 Mount Vernon Road SE from R-3 to R-5 for a 24 story 12 unit building. Residents opposed single family fit. Public hearings set June 18 for two other rezoning requests. Also approved bike routes and a sidewalk plan change. Historic note cites Rhode Island ratifying the Constitution in 1790.

Did you know optimist and fortune tale ran afoul
A playful survey of sayings notes an optimist expects no raisins or peanuts in a fruit bar and that some talkers reveal more than they should. It quips that a fortuneteller acts as a snitch who tattles on neighbors to the IRS.
