B J Thomas Returns to Country Roots After Pop and Rock
Nashville star B J Thomas, after success in rock and pop, returns to country with Hey Won’t You Play Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song reaching top of country charts. He records a new album in Nashville with plans for a live set and gospel project in 1966. He recalls early pay of 1806 dollars for six records, over 20 million sold since, and past drug issues he halted three years ago. He remains wary of industry executives while acknowledging Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head and the Butch Cassidy soundtrack kept his fame strong.
