Creative social distancing by restaurants worldwide
Restaurants and bars reopen with inventive measures to enforce distancing. In Greenville County South Carolina owners seat patrons with blow up dolls while wearing masks and checking temperatures. In DC area a three star Michelin venue fills the dining room with mannequins in 1940s outfits. Ocean City Maryland uses bumper tables—an inner tube rolling table—to maintain six feet. In Schwerin Germany guests wear straw hats with pool noodles to encourage spacing. Amsterdam’s Médiamatica arts center uses glass Serres Separees enclosures. Sydney’s Italian restaurant uses cardboard cutouts and ambient noise to appear busier with ten diners allowed.
