Cedar Rapids district earns national financial reporting award
Cedar Rapids school district received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for its comprehensive annual financial report. Steve Graham, executive director of Business Services and Board Treasurer, also received an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement for leading the report’s preparation.

Linn County Jail inmates graduate with GED in Cedar Rapids
In Cedar Rapids the Linn County Correctional Center held a May 20 GED ceremony for three inmates Ethan Waters Justin Seastrom and Aaron Hoyle who received certificates. The program began in 2004 with tutor support from Kirkwood Community College and aims to help inmates without a diploma pursue higher education.
