Quarter Horse Guide from Colonial America
The Quarter Horse originated in the Carolinas and Virginia during colonial times and was bred for speed, endurance, and versatility. It can reach about 45 mph in short races and comes in racing and stockier cowboy types used for cattle herding, rodeo, trail riding, and ranch work. The Kentucky Horse Park assisted with this feature.
