Memorial Day Toll Is Heavy Across Nation

Memorial Day weekend deaths rose to 201 as motorists hit highways in sunny weather. In Illinois a car left Interstate 57 early Saturday killing five people including a mother and her two children, with four Arkansans and one Californian among the victims in a two car crash near Sara.

Drive Carefully Drive Carefully Iota Teenagers Die

A weekend traffic- fatality tally reports three teenage deaths in Iota Florida as part of a national trend. Pleasant holiday weather is forecast to raise highway fatalities with the National Safety Council estimating 530 to 630 deaths before Monday midnight. Traffic deaths began Friday at 6 p m local time and end at midnight Monday, with Iowa noting one fatality on I 80 Friday afternoon and no Iowa fatalities by late Saturday.
