Around the town notes mix humor and school tales
A collage of short items ranges from a humorous remark about Lt. Gov Hickenlooper in a drug store to fair wind woes at Treasure Island. It also riffs on a city commissioner's movie scene, a parade of odds and ends about Chicago folk, Metta Burd's Red Cross booster misadventure, talk of Jean Brownlee's London school uniform, Joe Brownlee in St Paul’s and Cedar Rapids shopping, hat cleaner comments on hats, and Mary Ann Turnbull as queen’s trainbearer at Coe May fete.
