Harry Curry a 47 year old musician of 726 Second Street NW Cedar Rapids was attacked Wednesday afternoon by a man with a pocket knife. Neighbors helped carry him to Lindsay drug store where a tourniquet was applied and he was later taken to St Luke's hospital for treatment. The attacker fled in painter's clothes and Curry identified him Thursday morning to detectives. The injury to his left arm was severe with a nearly severed muscle and an artery cut. His condition was reported as fair.
Hollywood reports 8 year old Bobby Breen nearly drowns at Malibu lake after a dive. Basil Rathbone and director Kurt Neumann dive in to free him from mud eight feet below the surface. He is taken ashore insensible with a slight concussion. Sol Lesser says he cannot work for several days.

Loganport Indiana police officer Paul Minneman aged 31 died at St Josephs hospital after being shot during a bank holdup in Goodland Indiana last Tuesday. He had lapsed into a coma after receiving 12 bullet wounds despite six blood transfusions.
