Goat recaptured after dramatic escape in university research
A castrated male goat involved in post-traumatic osteoarthritis research escaped from a carrier January 29 and was pursued by US officials and university staff using tranquilizers, a drone test, and a helicopter option, before being recaptured February 8 and examined. Public officials and animal welfare advocates urged sanctuary relocation, while university officials defended the methods as necessary for data collection.
