Lisbon Woman Receives 100000th Radiation Treatment
The Margaret and Howard Hall Radiation Center near Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids marked its 100000th patient treatment Friday. Mrs. Raymond Brannaman of rural Lisbon received the dose on the center’s linear accelerator for breast cancer. Since 1956 the center has treated over 4100 cancer patients from the Midwest, growing from a cobalt facility to a modern linear accelerator unit expansion in 1973. The center, founded by Howard and Margaret Hall, remains affiliated with Mercy Hospital and features leaders such as Dr. A Curtis Hass and Dr. James Prouty among its staff and pioneers in radiology history.
