County relief program employs about 1000 workers
About 1000 men have registered for county relief work on R F C projects under the overseer of the Poor. Nearly 200 labor the Robert Ellis road project, sixty work on septic tanks at Marion, and over 250 engage in minor road repairs across the county. County Engineer Behrens directs the effort, with a county sewing room team producing bedding and clothing. Work tickets for next week are available at the courthouse basement, and some early registrants will be notified by registry clerks when to start.
