Veterans Bureau Bill Aimed At Nursing Staff Status
AP reports Rep Rankin and VA head Brig Gen Frank Hines discussed a proposal to create a VA Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. The plan would grant nurses at veterans hospitals permanent status, allow wartime drafting, and align VA personnel with military doctors in pay and duties, with presidential approval in principle.
