Death of Dr Charles Hazard Suicide Found In Iowa River
The body of Dr Charles Hazard 27 a research assistant in the University of Iowa psychology and speech pathology department was recovered from the Iowa River in Iowa City shortly after 9 am Tuesday Coroner George Maresh ruled death a suicide Hazard who had been in low spirits for some time was last seen in his laboratory Saturday afternoon His clothes were found on the river bank and a watch stopped at 9 o clock was found in his coat Also found was a letter from his father Hazard who was unmarried had Ohio State and Iowa degrees and lived in Columbus Coroner Maresh said no formal inquest would be held.

Cornell University files suit in district court to gain possession of 525 acres in Perry and Carlton townships as part of Anna B Johnston estate. Clarence area resident Mrs Wallace Rhoads aged 73 died at her daughter Mrs Minor Wheeler’s Hopkinton home after a long residence in the Clarence vicinity. Approves Claims Of Reformatory Staff In Des Moines
The Iowa state comptroller's office approved 37 609 72 in claims by 165 Anamosa reformatory employees who say the salary slash act was unconstitutional The payment covers May 1 1933 to July 1 1935 while the act was in effect The claims now go to the attorney general for submission to the next legislative session for funding.

Newman of Idaho sold sheep in Missouri bought a new car in Michigan and a bottle of whisky in Illinois then was arrested in Iowa. He was fined $100 and costs in Toledo justice court for keeping intoxicating liquor improperly labeled. His car lay in a ditch west of Montour on Highway 30. the sheriff found a whisky bottle inside with Newman asleep.
