Water young city trees with resident help urged
Watering of new street trees continues as City Forestry asks residents to assist. With limited equipment, five gallons twice weekly or slow hose flow to soak one foot deep is advised. Water if one inch of rain is not received in a week and probe hard ground to ensure moisture reaches roots. All trees planted in last two years need watering.
