Hot Lunch Funds Voted by Senate
DES MOINES AP A total of 978000 would be the state's share to feed hot lunches to public school students only under a proposal approved by the Iowa house. The house resisted broadening the plan to include non public school students and knocked out 80000 added by the senate to aid parochial school lunch programs. The measure passed 91 to 2 and goes back to the senate. The money matches federal funds in the 1973-74 school year, increasing the appropriation by 403000 over this year. Rep. Robert Kreamer said more money is needed because the federal government wants higher state contributions.
