Costello Explains Wis Split with Partner Abbott
HOLLYWOOD UP Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, one of the oldest teams in films, announced Thursday they would not stay a team much longer. They said once contracts wind up they will start separate careers. The split stems from Universal Studios new five year contract that included manager Eddie Sherman. They foresee tough going solo with a movie contract, radio deal, and a half finished MGM picture pending and two and a half years left on their current agreement.
