In a shift after international pressure, Myanmar will permit foreign aid workers and civilian ships to reach the Irrawaddy Delta to aid cyclone Nargis survivors. The regime will not allow U.S., French, or British military ships though. Ban Ki moon said the policy change allows aid workers regardless of nationality while military ships remain blocked. The delta remains hard hit with about 78 000 dead and 56 000 missing and only a quarter of survivors reached so far.
